As one of our major event sponsors The Sebel Mandurah is offering a special accommodation package for all paddlers and their families wanting to stay the weekend in Mandurah for the Alcoa Mandurah Duel.
The Sebel Mandurah is located right on The Boardwalk and overlooks the finish line of the big race on Sunday.
The Sebel Mandurah is offering a 20% discount off the best available rate over any room type. This offer is only available for stays between the 7th and 14th January 2013 and is available via the following link:
So if you’re planning on coming down to Mandurah to do the doubles race, the OC6 marathons or SUP BOP races on Saturday you can stay down the night and be ready for the Alcoa Mandurah Duel in the morning with just a short walk along The Boardwalk to the race registration.
Or if you’re just doing the single race on Sunday head down a day early and have a warm up on the Cut Run the day before and enjoy a night at The Sebel Mandurah before the big race.
The event will be held over two days in 2013. Saturday will include for the first time a separate double ski downwind race, a separate outrigger OC6 marathon series and a SUP BOP race. Sunday will be the biggie, the Alcoa Mandurah Duel for all single craft, Skis, OC1s and SUPs. Visit the Courses Page for more details.

Here is a fantastic video put together by the Jeep Surfski World Series team of the 2012 Mandurah Duel, it really captures the awesome conditions on the day that just got better and better during the race. It also catches the great tussle between the Mocke brothers that went down to the wire.
Jasper Mocke the winner of the Open Ski in the Mandurah Duel 2012 was kind enough to pose for this photo with our junior MOCA paddlers Giaan, Sarah, Sarnia, Jess and Milly, after his awesome win on Sunday. A really nice guy and a great gesture.
What a fantastic Duel, 246 paddlers took to the water in the Ocean vs Estuary challenge. This year the ocean won with Greg Long taking the line honours on an OC1 managing to get over the line in front of the fast finishing Mocke brothers with Jasper getting over 1 sec in front of Dawid.
