Sorry folks, the Dept. of Transport has contacted me and let me know that they are advising all aquatic events in the South West including Perth be cancelled for the weekend due to the significant weather event (ie. cyclone) that will effect the region from tomorrow afternoon. SLSWA and FESA have also issued the same warning.
Now the good news, Dept. of Transport has also said they will allow our event to be postponed until next weekend, so we are still on, The Duel will happen!
Every paddler who enters The Duel will go into the draw for two awesome spot prizes that will be drawn at the presentations straight after the race. But you have to be there to win them!
The Duel Random Draw Prize Packages
1 nights accommodation for 2 at the Mandurah Sebel Hotel
Dinner at a Boardwalk restaurant
Breakfast on the Boardwalk
A Dolphin and Canal Cruise with Bouvard Cruises
Two movie tickets from Reading Cinemas
Entry to the Australian Sailing Museum
The are two of these fantastic prize packages to be won just for entering The Duel.
The cash and prize allocation for the event has now been posted on the "Cash & Prizes" page. Along with the cash there will also be vouchers for all sorts of goodies from our sponsors on The Boardwalk.
Every competitor will also receive a Mandurah Duel embroidered sports cap, very stylish!

Welcome to the Mandurah Duel, an exciting race concept pitting downwind ocean paddling against flat water racing, starting at the same time from the same location but heading in two different directions on two courses of the same length and both finishing in the same location.
This race can only be held in one location, Mandurah, where paddlers are spoilt with fantastic paddling choices. The ocean downwind course for the race is a true downwind course with the prevailing SW Fremantle Doctor blowing parallel to the coast. The estuary course crosses the protected waters of the Harvey Estuary before heading up the estuary through the centre of Mandurah and finishing at The Boardwalk. Check out the Course Maps for details.
